As we begin a fresh new year full of possibilities, the people of Darebin are invited to start their summer Fridays by awakening their senses through the sounds of Indian classical music at the free weekly Dawn Raga Series every Friday, 7.30 @ Northcote Town Hall Arts Centre.
Audiences will be immersed in the meditative and spiritual sounds of the sitar, flute, violin and mridangam with the uplifting beats of the tabla. The free musical journey through tranquil and uplifting South Asian music has been designed by MAV and presented by the City of Darebin to energize and prepare audiences for the day ahead.
The weekly Dawn Raga Series concerts have been curated by renowned artist Jay Dabgar (tabla) and will feature some of the best exponents of this form of classical music.
