Why you can't PUSH your horse through a scary corner. 👇 When something happened in the corner that spooked this mare, her first fear was that I'd push her through. That I'd urge her forward until she would go. But this will not teach our horses anything. In fact, it will only add to the pressure your horse is already feeling. Instead, I take the time to guide my horse through the corner and remind them to release the tension. I do this by falling back on my groundwork exercises I taught this mare before moving on to the double lunge.
